CSA box #18

Ok, so apparently this is the 4th to last box? I’m confused. But happy to know veggies will still be coming our way.

This week: mustard greens, delicata squash, buttercup squash, green leaf lettuce, broccoli, red onions, parsley, garlic, savoy cabbage, carrots and radishes.

It’s squash week, clearly.

CSA box #17

Well I am feeling overwhelmed with the amount of food that was in this box… and that we’ve barely made a dent in last week’s box, but this box looks spectacular.

Contents: red grape cheery tomatoes, bok choi, carrots, arugula, edamame, broccoli, salad mix, red leaf lettuce, onions, red potatoes, sweet dumpling squash and spaghetti squash.

I think this might be the second to last CSA box we get. I bet I’ll miss being overwhelmed.

CSA box #15

This is a few days late and this is not the best picture of the wonderful contents of CSA box #15, but Friday I was in a rush (trying to pack for a weekend wedding 4 hours away!), and forgot to pick the box up… twice!  I’m glad I remembered.

Contents: butternut squash, onions, broccoli, a watermelon, green beans, lettuce, red tomatoes, tomatoes from our plant (not the CSA box but they snuck in the photo!), red potatoes, heriloom tomatoes, san marzano tomatoes, and garlic.

We are expecting some fall-like evenings this week so I look forward to roasting that squash.

CSA box #11

#11 includes: broccoli, candy onions, sweet corn, early girl, heirloom and sungold cherry tomatoes, cucumber, a big galia melon, beets, kohlrabi, basil, summer squash, zucchini and garlic.

CSA box #7

Box seven of the season included: broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, fresh garlic, rainbow chard, zucchini, green beans and red norland potatoes.

We get a “crop sheet” in every box and it tells us little facts and info about the weekly contents. Ours told us to use up the carrots (first field grown of the season) ASAP and that the potatoes have a short shelf life as well so dinner was planned for us tonight!

CSA box #6

I finally got the honor of being able to walk down to French Meadow to pick up the CSA box and this weeks box was heavy! Our CSA boxes keep getting bigger and bigger and soon we are going to probably have to turn vegan to keep up with all of our veggies.

I feel like I say this every week but… Jackpot!! From the top: baby spinach, beets, salad greens, basil, yukon gold and new potatoes, broccoli, fresh garlic, green beans, cucumber, yellow squash and zucchini.

What would you do with those beets?

CSA Box #4

It’s a green green week for our fourth Featherstone Farm CSA box. That is just fine by me! I like almost anything green. This box this week came with dill, swiss chard, broccoli, romaine lettuce, mixed baby lettuce, sugar snap peas and cilantro.

I am most excited about the romaine, since it looks so big and fresh. I have a hard time finding good romaine in our grocery store. The cilantro I might be turning into pico de gallo, as I will use any excuse to eat chips and salsa. That dill will be going home with one of our Richfield pal Kate; I am not a fan of dill. It’s worse than rhubarb!
